I took my car there to install my VeilSide hood, remove some scratches and remove my stock spoiler. They wanted $1700. I shopped around and found another shop offering the work for $1150. Because I was overwhelmed of all the awards 2020 Autobody Tech had, I went back and they said they'd do it for $1450.

I told them I didn't need it till May 19th (the day of the West LA S2K event). This was in the 2nd week of April on a Thursday, mind you. They said it'll only take two weeks. We swapped hoods and they notice that the grill of the VS was slightly damaged. So I called VeilSide and SP Engineerng where I bought the kit and they agreed to swap it. I called 2020 Friday and they told me SP picked up the hood. SP offered to bring the replace hood to 2020, but they decided to pick it up themselves. I called them Monday and they told me I'd have the car the same week. I was excited, made plans to make the S2000 Hooters meet. I called later that week they told me they didn't pick up the hood. I asked them what was done. They said nothing. I called SP they told me the hood was just waiting for pickup. I called 2020 they told me they already had it. I should have known they were a bunch of liars when they told me they'd done 4-5 other S2000s, all hardtops they said. Never seen a rag top they told me. F them those bastards.

I called VeilSide to complain about the lies and poor customer service and how they weren't customer oriented. VeilSide will never refer a customer there either. Another week passed and then they told me they'd be done on Friday. On Wedneday I called and they said Friday for sure. On Thursday they called me and just picked up the hood, They let the hood sit in the other shop all this time. They finally go pick it up in a Civic. Don't ask me how they got it to fit. Then they tell me the hood is still damaged. I call VeilSide again and ask, why it took them so long to tell me. VeilSide tells me about the photoshoot if I get the whole kit.

I am so excited at this point, I call 2020 to put some presure on them and let them know of the photoshoot. They didn't seem to car. They couldn't get anything done right. They tell me they're too busy for the photoshoot. I ask if I can go to Superior PV for the photoshoot and VS makes the arrangements.

So the only thing done on my car was removing the spoiler and taking off some scratches off the front bumper. So after days of frustration and being that I have 5 days before the photoshoot, I call 2020 and tell them I just want to pay for the services completed. They tell me no that I have to pay the full price, even though they should have had the work done, had they stayed on top of things or notified me earlier. So they want $1450 for those two things which I could have paid $600-700 dollars for somewhere else. So I tell them the price is not fair and the General Manager argues with me on the phone, calls me an a$$hole twice for wanting my car back. And then tells me I'm getting a great price and how they bent over backwards for me, when they didn't do anything. Then he says, "You can tell you buddies at VeilSide that they can forget the shoot. You f

ack! sorry to hear about your troubles, but it really seems like you shelled out over 1400 bucks for being harrassed and being left with damaged goods that aren't right. Its quite unfair that you couldnt' even get your car back. Its just not right.

Do you have a number? and have you checked the BBB regarding their shop?

If it weren't for the fact that I needed to get my car in the other body shop so quickly I would have raged war.

My wife works for a huge law firm, but she tells me her lawyers only represent large clients.

How many miles did the bastards put on your baby during all the conflict? I have visions of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off".

S2KFan,

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences. I would definitely file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

No matter what, put a stop payment on the check and or dispute charges with your credit card company, snooze you lose, get a lawyer and then since you already paid for the service pay a little more and place a full page ad in the local news paper about their shitty service. That will get their attention. Screw the threats of lost business from them, 2020 did not do the work correctly or on time and did not deliver as promised.
