I know this is a little off topic, but the discussion brings me here.
If you told your woman that you didn't like her car because it wasn't sporty enough people would look at you like an idiot. But the truth of the matter is that we are only what time and circumstance have made us. I grew up with sporty cars, trucks and vans. The van was the only vehicle that had more than 2 doors and that 3rd door was a sliding door. I've never owned a car that had more than 2 doors (my hatch included or excluded). I've had a kid through just about all of them and it never seemed unpractical to me, and he never complained. My point is this. Our take on practicality, like or dislike is formed from our experiences. You have to ask the all important question... why? Why do you feel that way, and where do these feelings come from, because they are different from your own.
As far as what I drive affecting her or our relationship is debatable.
