Default Looking to get an s2k soon

So im thinking about selling my 2010 Honda Accord coupe and getting myself a s2000

I'm planning to go with an ap2, since their a bit newer..

Can you guys give me any tips on what to look for, what are common problems for the s2ks? I read about the valve retainers, but how can i check if they're ok? Can i see them from just looking under the hood?

Any help is appreciated!!

^ Great read.

The valve retainers were an AP1 issue. Try to go 06+ since you're looking at AP2s anyways--you'll have a fully reprogrammable ECU and you can take very easy advantage of it with Flashpro (8500 redline, lower vtec engagement, tuning for potential mods to actually get some gains, etc.)

Nothing wrong with ap1s (surprisingly) they are very nearly the same car, my point is, if you find a mint one at a good price dont cringe i love my second ap1!

I wanna go with ap2's just because they're newer, this is going to be my daily driver so i need something reliable.

I've never owned a used car so i'm kinda nervous about it. My parents done like the idea either but its my money lol.

If the car pops out of gear on certain gears what does that mean? I saw it on the suggested write up. How much would a repair for that cost?

I occasionally have this problem with my AP1, usually once the car is fully warmed up though I don't have any issues, usually your car will only pop out of gear while in drive if the car isn't fully warmed up. The solution would be to change the transmission fluids, which I haven't had the time to do yet.
