My take on this, ASAP, is that it will not damage your differential. I believe Honda's warning is because you might end up having driving problems with the spare (because of how the Torsen diff works), but I don't see why you'd have mechanical problems. The differential does not have belts or clutches to wear out. I think there is some misunderstanding about this among some of the site members.

I could be wrong about this, but I haven't heard of a lot of reports of damaged differentials. Five miles? No brainer (IMO).

I don't know, if anyone wants to set me straight on this, go ahead.
