My wrecked S
Good luck to you, it's not easy having that running through your head over and over, I imagine. Best of luck to you and your family.
Hopefully not sounding callus, I'll take a lesson from this and hopefully never be in either of your shoes.

Lesson learned, only problem I have is that they should make a traffic light there just so it won't happen to anyone else. Things happen for a reason and we all learn from it, it just sadden me to know that something like this could of been avoided.
It's pretty unfortunate how they do trial and error with signage or flow control like traffic lights. A little off-topic, but one of the things that impressed me about my hometown west of Toronto was that they raised a speed limit years ago because they did an independant study indicating that people expected the speed to be higher on a road that size and were therefore turning slow drivers into a hazard.
There were several accidents over years as well prior to this, but it seemed semi-proactive compared to some areas I've seen where accidents are weekly and preventable.

Cycle guy died 6hrs after at the hospital, everything was sorta ok 'til I got the report and it stated that he'd passed away. Everything just dropped at that point for me.
I had to get it off my chest so I can start to move along, it's only been 2 months but I feel that I needed to let it go. It's not easy when you can't sleep at night, when you keep thinking and reversing roles.
As for whomever that asked would the biker still live if he'd worn a helmet, yes he would cuz the big part was that he'd smacked his head right on the windshield then flew over. It was so hard that it shattered the windshield, that was what had knocked him out.
