Default My04 - Ac ????

I live in AZ where AC is essential. When using the AC, it runs cold then it just blows air then it turns to cold air again. This will continue back and forth. I would like to know if this is normal or if the AC needs to be checked out under warranty? I am guessing if I rev too low (bogging) or too high the AC condenser automatically cuts off, does this occur in our cars and could this be causing the cold/warm/cold/warm air change?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

It sounds to me like the AC thermostat is out of adjustment, or maybe the system is over or under charged and the pressure safety switch is shutting off the compressor. Has your AC system ever been worked on?

I have read that the compressor is turned off at above like 7K RPM (I forget exactly where) and that there is no full-throttle cutout. It definitely should not be shutting off at low RPM.

You should have it looked at, especially if you're under warranty.

Mine is an 02 with 2900 miles on it, and it does the same thing as yours. I don't think it is abnormal. I can't remember for sure but I think my 00 model did the same thing.

My '02 does it too, I took it back to the dealer and they checked everything out and said it was OK, but everyone knows that deal. Anyway, I found a thread on here where lots of members said it was normal, so I just don't worry about it. Hopefully Honda doesn't have this problem on other cars other than the S2k.

Then I'd venture a guess into the way the car is setup to run the recirc. mode. Maybe it feels the need to bring in fresh air once in a while?

I bet just running AC without the recirculation mode would pump continuous cold air.

Me too. They must have saved the good AC units for the GPW's.
