i had one small one (which i repaired myself) but now like you said above got a 1/2 inch slit where the bar rubs against the top inside...i asked my dealer where i bought it from and they said the warranty does not cover that, but i have read and heard some people say they got theres repaired covered by warranty......

There is a history of one of the roof brackets having a poor finish on it and rubbing through the roof.
Several have been replaced under warranty in the UK

I had the same problem with my 2005. The elastic straps didn't pull the first crossmember back properly when the top was lowered. The fabric gets caught and tears. Mine was replaced without hesitation by the dealer.

Damn I feel you on this one, I would try with honda, keep a good approach. I have heard of several people getting it fixed at little to no cost.

Ugh, I'm at my parents' place for Thanksgiving, and decide to wash the car. As I'm drying the top, I notice a 1/2 inch hole on the passenger side, slightly above and behind the side window. With the top halfway down, I can clearly see the hole running across the edge of one of the metal bars. My '05 is 11 months old and the dealer's getting a call from me Monday morning.

i have about 1 inch cut on my top.
I went to the dealer and they suppose call me back when division manager is there.
I'll let you know what happens.

BTW, try to put some tape or cloth where its need to prevent further problem. Slit gets larger very fast if you operate your top. Mine doubled in matter of couple top down.

I just replaced my top, I am sad to say I will not be putting it down nearly as much as I did in the past. I honestly believe that the frame and top design have a flaw, so many people on this site have posted problems with the top ripping. I am going to take pictures of my old top and send them to Honda. When I took my car into honda to have them look at my top, the service manager said, "looks like pure neglect to me". I wanted to punch the guy in the face. I have had 6 hondas and have always taken great care of all of them, never have I had such crappy service from a dealership. I was fuming, he told me I clearley have not followed the manafactures care instructions. So I asked him for a copy of the care instructions, I read them and asked him where the care instructions for the inside of the top were, he looked at me baffled. I told him the top is wearing from the inside out and I am not too clear on how to take care of it. Too say the least he did not know the answer to my question. He gave me a few lines of, well, uhh, cuz, umm, you see? Now I am going to take my case to honda care and see if they will do anything for me.
