Invoice is $29,820ish. You paid about 2% over which is what I get with the Motorola employee discount. Still a great price though.

I paid $29.9 for a new 05 in January and remember that this was $300 to $400 below invoice at that time. I didn't pay any destination charge and the $29.9 included all charges but tax and license ... it even included a $5 charge for California tire disposal. I thought my price was spectacular and yours is even better. Great deal, Yellowkawi, on a great car. Now I can't help but wonder if your name is gonna change to Redkawi ... on second thought, that sounds too much like red comie and just doesn't seem to fit the S2K image.
Invoice meaning what? They make that shit up. Invoice is not what the dealer pays for the car, it's what you pay for the car! It sits somewhere between actual dealer cost and MSRP.
It is claimed to be the invoice price the dealer pays for the car and in fact that's true, that is the price on the invoice. What's not on the invoice are the discounts and dealer incentives the dealer gets which lower that price by a substantial margin.
Here's an example. I make widgets and you are a dealer. The MSRP of my widget is $10 and I agree to invoice you $7 for each widget you buy. However I also offer you a discount credit of $1.50 and an incentive bonus of $0.50 for each widget you sell. Now, your invoice says $7 but you actually paid $5.
A customer comes in and wants to negotiate a deal. They offer you $6 for a widget and you say "that's below my cost" (pull up the invoice I sent you on the screen and tell the customer you need to go ask your manager). Now come back and tell the customer that the manager instructed you to offer $7.20. The customer, being the genius he is sneaked a peek at the invoice showing you paid $7 for the widget so concludes he's getting it for $0.20 over your cost and agrees. What's an awesome deal! Call it win-win.
The good news is that if you get the car for invoice you did in fact get about the best deal possible, in fact you reached the bottom of the negotiation scale so give yourself a pat on the back for getting that far. Invoice is a good deal but don't think it means the dealer isn't making money on it.

I paid $29.6k (thats with destination included) without any real haggling involved (from what i noticed, almost everyone in cali is paying about $29.6k, give or take a bill) before tax and DMV fees.
are people confusing OTD prices???
$29,663 OTD means he bought the car for about $26K to $27K depending on tax / DMV fees which vary by state. This means you got a rediculously, almost unbelieveable deal and i'd want to see a scan of the receipt. This price is what dealers sell USED MY04's for.
Now $29,663 before tax / reg is still a very good deal, and more believeable.
