I didn't feel like reading everyone's post but I saw a few people saying that VSA isn't sophisticated or that it wouldn't save you... blah blah blah... BS!!!!

VSA is very sophisticated... not only will it control throttle but it will INDIVIDUALLY activate your brakes to prevent spin outs. Trust me... if you had VSA on that canyon road... you wouldn't have spun out. It happened to me numerous times when I first got the car and now I can drive the car agressively and it won't even kick in cause I have better control of the car. VSA is a good way to learn to drive the car hard cause when you make a mistake, it lets you know by turning on.

You WILL NOT be disappointed by switching to 06 or 07.

with out the rain i always turn the VSA off and even thought it went out of steering but it's not a big problem for the S

but when it's rainning , it's totally diffrent ..
I really don't understand why people turn it off. It really doesn't affect the way you drive under normal conditions. And if you turn it off to have "FUN" on public roads... then you're just dumb cause you're putting other people's lives at risk.

On roads, I always leave it on. No human is perfect!!!!... I don't care how good of a driver you are. But when on the Auto-X... I turn it off and I rarely spin out.

The 07 VSA is no where near as intrusive as the PSM on my '02' 996. You could turn it off but it would come back on if you got into the ABS.

If you're spelling and inability to formulate a readable sentence is any indication of... your other abilities, driving in this instance, then it seems very likely. You come across about as intelligent and literate as the OP. Some people on these boards...

Have you also disabled the engine start button then? Cause as far as I know, you can't start this car without pushing a button. That must drive you nuts, so I can see why you would want to get rid of the 2nd one to push too
The more I think about it, the more I don't like the push button start. I already have to to turn the key, why should I now have to hit another button? Now if this was a Lexus and as long as the key was in your pocket you could just hit the button... then fine.

On the road I notice the VSA in very few situations, but it catches me off guard every time. It's really not that I'm bumping into the VSA every day or every week. I just don't need it. I drive like a granny in the rain or when the road is wet. When the road is dry this car is so predictable to me that the VSA is redundant.

On a separate but related topic, I've driven my car on the track with the VSA on and off. From my experience, the VSA intrudes well before I am in danger of spinning out and destroys the handling characteristics of the car. You have to be able to steer the car with your foot to make good times around the track. The VSA makes this impossible.

Just to make it clear, I have no problem with the VSA being there and it can be a great aid for new drivers or for times when you don't want to pay as much attention. This is I think the greatest asset for having it set up the way it is. You have to press the button to get into go-fast mode. Some people are different though. I have become accommodated to how the car responds to my inputs and the road with the VSA off. If I am tired or conditions are bad, I am not going to drive fast all. The VSA just doesn't fit my driving style at all. I don't heave the car into a turn hoping for the best. I know what this car can handle and if there are other cars or people around I drive well below that threshold.

This thread started with a simple question: Will VSA help me get around corners if I enter them too fast? Depending on the situation it may. As stated though, the situation described would not have been avoided with VSA. The OP used his brakes while in a turn, the VSA is not setup to correct this.

In general, the system is a lot better at keeping you from accelerating more than you should in a corner. It is not as good at slowing you down if you are going too fast into a corner.

VSA is just like any other traction control ... there is only so much that it could do ... if you jam on the brakes in the middle of the corner, then mmmm

Completely, I leave it on all the time, and it only comes on noticably when I apply too much throttle for conditions. I'd love to play with it's yaw control abilities, but not on public roads. Anyone have experience with this?

As far as throttle control for steering, are we talking about shifting weight to play with the amount of understeer? If so, I haven't had any issues with VSA effecting this. Otherwise we're talking about drifting? On public roads? Even on the track drifting is kind of silly.
