Default MY07 Soft Top Noises?

i've searched around, looked through a couple threads and couldn't find anything about it..

but basically it started recently and when my top is up, and i hit bumps, my soft top makes creaking noises that get really annoying.. it didn't have it when i first had the car, it just suddenly out of no where got it.. is there anything you guys did (besides bringing it to the dealership?)

anyone else have this problem?

I only have 3800 miles on it too

I also have a 2007 S2000 and I have the same problem. It's so annoying driving on crappy roads or roads that aren't even in general.

I took my car to the dealership and they just cleaned all and lubed all my seals and moving part in the top and surprisingly a lot of the noises went away. I live in the city too where the roads are like hell so I understand what you're feeling...

Shin-etsu grease is your friend.

Check out this TSB:

It's for MY03 and such, but the top isn't new for AP2. Tell the service manager to do it under warranty.

The grease plus some electrical tape wrapped over the latches will help inordinately.

Yep, my 07 has been doing it from the day I drove it off the lot. It's something that seems to affect all years, and it was an issue in my 01 as well.

I've learned to deal with it, although I might try that grease thing at some point in the future. There's a little plastic piece on the latch that moves around and rattles, but I just stick a piece of paper next to it and it stops. Every once in a while, the paper flies away and I just replace it with another. If it's not the top, it'll be coins rattling in the tray, I just deal with it.
