mine did that as well, so i sprayed some WD-40 on some of the screws and joints and the creaking all went away. also, sometimes if i don't close the top 100%, it tends to make some weird noises, so i hold the button for about a second longer after it appears to be closed before latching it shut.

There is a post SOMWHERE about this. But if its a realllllly slight clicking noise, then its part of the soft top's frame hitting another part of your frame. It is where the joints flex. The metal hits the metal on another portion.

My quick fix was to get one of those tiny little felt circles, used to put under things to not let them scratch stuff. That stopped it for me.

Mine was quiet except some small ticking noise from the spring mechanism.
But recently I also noticed this creaking noise when it really cold outside.
I thought it was normal considering the temperature.
If I still have this creaking sound even in spring or summer, I'll have it greased.

My 07 did the same 2 days after purchase, brought it back to the dealer and they claimed to put double side tape on the underside of the latches? but whatever they did it worked! never had the problem again.

I drive with the top down as much as possible. Every time i put the top up and hear all the noise it makes me want to put the top back down.
