Suzuka2k, 4k is about what I'm willing to spend. Any more and I might as well wait until October to see what will be new for 2003.

LOL Yeah, even if they offer that! You can always wait forever or stay in a never-ending quest for better performance or for more features. But I drew a line for myself at the '02 model year. I'll keep the it for as long as money can't buy another roadster as fun as the S2000 for around USD35k (adjust for inflation).

Saw an '02 for the first time yesterday and it was very nice. Had Honda added power seats I'd definitely be trading up as well. Good luck!

I hope Honda never adds power seats to the S2000! At least not as standard equipment!

Power seats = additional weight (IMO)

Heated seats would be good though. Wouldn't add but 1-2 lbs at most and would be very nice this time of year. I know we really don't need them and a luxury item like that goes against the spirit of the S but as long as we're wishing... There was a thread on how one of the owners added the seat heaters to his S2k, pretty smart I thought.

Computers are still worse than cars, what else depreciates 99% within 3-4 years ? These days it's not as but but still it seems worse.

Getting back to the trade up topic... Went to see a dealer today about trading for a 2002 and was appauled at little they wanted to give me for my 2001 (11k miles, mint.). Basically they wanted my car + $8,000. They had the usual $800 "paint protection" and $300 "customer document fee" added in. After 90 min. of thier crap, I told them they were crazy and said I'd buy from somebody else. There are more than a dozen dealers in the Atlanta area, maybe one of them won't be so greedy. Somewhat surprising given the economy. There is another dealership in the area that still has a brand new slv/blk 2001 on tier lot . Ya, thier selling well now...

BTW, the salesman swore that the 2002 had more horsepower than the 2001, that they were limited production, and that they were sold out until March but they could get me one if I was willing to pay the $8k. Funny that they had a Blk/Blk 2002 sitting in the showroom for sale (had plenty of scratches on it from being wiped down with a dry cloth). Yada, yada, yada... I'm on a quest now...
