MY2002 will be slower....
......in theory at least. It occurred to me that the new model will be heavier, thanks to the new glass window (at least that is what the rumor is). I'm sure the weight increase is negligible but never the less, the car will weigh more. I have found that the cheapest way to shave weight from the car is to go on a diet. Not everyone on this board has weight to lose, but I'm sure some of us could stand to lose 20 pounds.
Also, the new model is suppose to have cleared out headlights and side markers. I thought that some states in the US required these lights to have the amber color. Would Honda make these changes to the US models knowing that it is a traffic infraction in some states?

Well... if my memory serves me correctly, here in CA, the vehicle code requires only that you have a reflector on the side of the front somewhere in the color spectrum between clear and amber and the same goes for the turn signal. So clear corners are actually ok... EXCEPT - I believe amber is required for DOT inspection, so you wont find a car sold here in the US that doesn't have an amber reflector somwhere on the side in the front and amber turn signals.
Easy solution: Just buy a lighter exhaust system. That's what I'll be doing as soon as my MY2002 comes. What's the Amuse? 8 lbs. or something like that? That way you can still go to the In N Out Burger drive-thru in style and not worry about only eating salads the rest of your life!
