Default n00b questions

I've been considering purchasing a used S2000. I went for a test drive earlier today and had some basic questions.

What are some of the things I should be aware of in this car? I've read about possible engine failures, etc. Anything else (like operation of the top, which I didn't get to test 'cuz it was raining)

The car seems to rev awfully high, even in 6th gear. I didn't get to cruise at higway speeds so I can't say what that's like. Now I know that high revs are part of what this car's all about, but it seems as if at above 4000 rpms, the noise inside the car is extremely loud. I'm somewhat worried that if I have to go at highway speeds for a few hours that I'll be deaf. What should the revs be at 60mph in 6th?

What's the expected longevity of this car? My current car (a 97 Accord) has 97K miles but the engine runs like new (heck, prolly better since it's all broken in). Should I expect similar from an S2000?

thanks in advance

High revs are not the engine's fault but rather the gearing and are normal. The noise is not so bad IMO. It's not going to be as quiet as your accord, and it's not supposed to be. The top is unlined and the car was not designed to be a sunday drive kind of car. If you treat the car reasonably well it should be trouble free, or close. Mine has 23000 miles and other than a couple of minor warranty covered thing nothing has gone wrong with it.
