Name Plate Discrimination
I have read many of threads about American car buffs who bash our car just because it's a Honda. We all know that it's wrong to do this and that they are making pointless assumptions, however, I have a question for S2000 owners. Hundai has been constantly improving the quality of their cars the past five years and the 2003 Tiburon is not too shabby. If Hundai put out a real sports car in the near future would you bash it becasue it was a Hundai like our car is bashed?
Yes I would and here's the reason...
Hyundai hasn't proven wrong (yet) their reputation for poor build quality and horrendous customer support. This will take many years until consumers begin to trust them again. I HAVE seen an increase in people that I know buying their cars, but that could be just because of the price.
American car "buffs" bash our car because it is non-American, not for any other true reason other than that. See the difference?

What he said. To go further, American cars went to sh*t in the 70's and early 80's. Hence the loss of market share to the Japanese cars and other imports. I STILL won't buy an American car because I don't believe they've improved to the point that they're comparable with imports, especially Japanese imports. I MAY be completely wrong, but it's a lot easier to lose a good reputation than it is to get a good reputation after having had a bad one.
IMO Dodge sucks I've had 2, problems with both of them and Dodge would not stand behind their product.
Hyundai's are better than they were, I have one 1997 Accent, I've had no major problems with it. Of course, it does not ride as well as some other cars. I use it to commute to work 50 mi each way at speeds between 70 - 80 MPH and it's been a good car so far.

Dodge/Chrysler are the reason I drive a Honda today. When I buy a car it has a life long contract with me. I will trade it off when it becomes economically unfeasible to continue ownership. That usually worked out to about 125,000 miles or 6 years. Till I bought a Dodge. It was in the garage seven times in the first six months of ownership. The passenger mirror fell off as I drove down the road, the window leaked, the molding fell off the passenger side - even the courtesy light in the car fell out of the door. After having it in the garage the seventh time, I started to have engine problems. I ask to see the dealer rep, since the dealer would not honor the warranty - It seems that my warranty only cover "actual moving parts" after the first 12,000 mile. The dealer rep refused to talk to me - basically he blew me off. I sort of got my point across about their product - I wrote a registered to Lee Iaccoca and proceeded to inform him that his product was a piece of
I believe what I specifically wrote was "the car you sold me has a case of automobile leprosy, parts just keep dropping off" 18 months later, after forcing them to rebuild the engine at 48,000 miles, seeing it begin to fail at 59,000 again, I took a "chance" and traded on a Honda Accord. That was 13 years ago, and I have owned nothing but Honda cars since. By the way - I have never traded a Honda because it was "economically unfeasible" - I traded my 97 CR-V for a new 03 CR-V because, well my wife and I wanted a change of color!
Hyundai - I thinks that's Korean for "Dodge/Chrysler"
