Default nearly killed today!

i'm still shocked - today, going down a local road, i think i see something falling out of a tree high up ahead... next thing i know, BANG! like a gunshot going off. something hit my hardtop. i pull over and look, and there's a really nice dent in the hardtop, right over my head. that loud, and that dent, what if i'd had the top down? ouch! i guess i'll be trying out that dent-removal seminar at fall colors now!

It has always been my nightmare to have things fall on me when the top is down. I'm glad you had your hardtop on.

Glad you're O.K.

My "nearly killed" moments happen when my top is up at night, trying to switch lanes over to the left. It's difficult enough because the visibility is so poor with the top up in the day, let alone at night. . As a result, I've nearly rammed a few cars switching lanes going 70 mph. Although I have the convex mirrors on both my side mirrors, it's still a challenge to see cars on your left in the blind spot. Lately I've been only driving in the fast lane at night; and attempting to keep the top down for as long as possible.

Not to make light of a potentially dangerous event, but your story reminded me of one of the funniest things I've read here.

Check it out here.

still haven't figured it out - wasn't a rock - there wasn't anyone in front of me, and i didn't see anything on the street after i pulled over immediately... the ding looks smaller today but it's still a fair sized ding. odd.

the hardtop will be hard to dent remove because of the aluminum construction...
