Default need 2002+ S2000 for rollbar fitment

I am posting here what I already posted in the Racing/Competition forum in hopes of attracting a larger audience. Below is the post
-----------------------------------------------------------

We've designed a Solo I spec rollbar. It will fit fine in '00 and '01 cars, we're pretty sure it will fit a '02 car but want to test fit it. Its an awesome design that was refined over 3 versions before we finally found a solution that will make the main hoop as high as the front windsheild AND no loss of a single click on the seat slider! It keeps the stock hoops in place too. Its mild steel in 1.75" with 120 DOM wall thickness. We worked very hard with SCCA's Howard Duncan on setting it up and communicated with him often to ensure the design met their requirement.

Sorry no picts yet, its not in a presentable state. We're located in Southern Connecticut, close to New Haven. The volunteer can have the first bar at a significant discount once the product is available, plus bragging right for having serial number 1 Actually, our serial numbering system is a bit more complex than that, generated by a pretty neat piece of software we wrote

cheers

W.

Glad to see that someone is working on a rollbar to fit an 02-up. Keep up the great work guys. Can't wait to see the pics.

I would love to...but I don't have the time to get away from work nor the money to buy one yet. I'm sure someone in your neck of the woods would be happy to...right Metro NYC people??

Can't wait to see the pics! The fact that it does not affect the seat travel is VERY appealing to me! I am 6'1", need every bit of seat travel and my head sticks up past the stock hoops. I am very interested.

Is this going to be a more or less permanent type mod?

I am just looking for the minimum bar needed so I can try some track days at places like VIR.

What is the ballpark pricing?

Thanks,

George

Does it limit use of the solf top? I might be able to make the trip in the not too distant future, but don't want something that restricts use of the top at all.

The soft top will close and open fine. We've been working on this since May 2001.

Last time I looked at the 2002 S2000 at the dealer, the mechanism was a bit different, it looked like there was actually more room on the 2002 car but I couldn't tell until I test it.

cheers
