Default Need Advice on buying 05 GPW

Evening everyone,

Been looking to get my first S for the past two years. Came home from a deployment last year and am finally able to budget and still be financially responsible.
A local-ish dealership currently has an 05 GPW with about 56k~ miles. The engine has been modified with an intake. The interior is tan and looks is good condition. They're asking 25k, I was wondering if this was a reasonable going price.

I greatly appreciate the advice

I know what car your talking about. It was originally listed for $20,498.i called on it immediately. I still have the screen shot. Looking at the pics, it appears some panels were painted. In my opinion not worth the current asking price.

I have a hard time seeing the panels. The side markers are not OEM and the 2000 of the S2000 is missing from both side fenders. The $25K asking price is high.

FYI.... I found this too..... Asked the guy to take off the Intake and show me the Vin on the front bumper.... It is not there. Everything else looks clean, except that. Another guy told me there were parts on the front end that looked like they had "overspray". Tires have date codes from 2010 and 2013... be prepared to replace those immediately as well. Heard two different back stories on the car.... little sketched out myself...... just FYI.

PS... Have a lot more pics if you are interested.

Be patient and you can find a much better car for that money or less.

Trust me they are out there. I would suggest watching the car classifieds on here. This is where I found my last S2000, just last month. Buying it was a great experience. 2 owner car that was in NC, listed here in August. 25k original mile, just about perfect car. All original body panels, records, and two extra sets of wheels in outstanding condition. All for 22k. The best part was that the seller was such a great guy that I really enjoyed communicating with and meeting. Just check the for sale section daily, and when one pops up that looks promising, contact the seller quickly to maybe get first in the line, because there will probably be one. In my case, I was the second person to contact the seller, but the first potential buyer didn’t work out so the car was mine. This one is just in outstanding condition and looks and feels and drives like a new car. Plus it had been worked on and inspected by Billman and Pinky, 2 S2000 wizards that are highly respected on this forum.
Hang on and be patient Brother! You WILL find the car of your dreams. It is out there and waiting for you!
