Default Need advice please...17 or 18 in. wheels tire, lowering issues

Hi all, Was just looking for some advice on any problems owners have had or not had with:

1. Lowering the S with stock wheels/tires...I have heard of alignment issues...is there a way to do it right w/o worrying about poor tire wear and or alignment problems down the road

2. adding 17 or 18" wheels/tires and not lowering but having a little bit bigger wheel/tire combo to take up a little more space in the wheel well area...again is there a problem with the bigger wheels/tires causing problems

3. adding 17 or 18" wheels/tires and lowering. same as above

I guess I am looking for a way to make the wheel well look a little more full. are there correct lowering kits to resolve any alignement issues is it better to just leave the suspension alone and maybe get the bigger wheel/tire combo thing?

Any help or adice from owners experience would be helpful and I thank you in advance.

225/40/18 in rear
205/45/17 in front

Gearing slightly changed, rear wheel well area minimized by .2 inches while the front wheel well area increased .5 inches due to smaller front tire.
No problems at all. I've actually had folks ask me if it was lowered. It's not.
Adverse handling issues encountered? None.

front: 17x7 215/45/17
rear: 17x8 235/40/17

The Generous offset and conservative tyre size means i get no rubbing issues!
My next set of tyres i might get 245s at the rear as there is still heaps of space to the fender!

s2kbtheway..
Definately Comfortable! My mate [F20C] with a current stock suspension set up confirms not too different ride feel than stock...
