I've contacted Compustar on line and asked them to e-mail me the nearest distributor to me here in West Palm Beach. It's definately worth considering.

Axis_of_Evil and I are going to install WLAURENT's alarm system tomorrow in my ride.

Evil is an electronic engineer, and he has already installed the same system in his car, and he has recommended it to me.

I also purchased the optional paging system, which will notify me when the alarm goes off, so that hopefully, I can get there fast enough to present a lovely Judo demonstration to any vandals or thieves. I think it would be fitting to leave them with a permanent reminder of the occaision!

I'll also be getting a Lojac system installed from Pierceman's dealership (World Honda), because his prices are good, and I know he'll keep a close eye on my car during the installation.

I know that no system is foolproof, but I'm all for reducing the chance of theft, and increasing the chance of recovery.

Please use caution; remember many of today's petty thieves or vandals are likely to respond to being confronted with a gun. Judo doesn't beat a slug...

No worries. I've been shot, and stabbed (x5). It hardly even hurts. Besides, there's a good chance that the shoe may be on the other foot.

I'm always careful, but there's always an element of risk in everything we do.

If your car gets stolen, it has a tracking device in it, so it can be located. Now Lojac offers a system so that if your car is moved without the key being in it, it is automatically tracked, and they page you or call you on your cell phone!

I'm getting Powerlock for my car. You can't drive it away if you can't hotwire it.

I have a Viper system in both my cars. (Several companies use the exact system with their names on it.) It has the power kill, paging option, windows option (rolls windows up when activated..most helpful in the C5), and a tilt sensor. The tilt sensor trips the alarm in the event of theft by towing. I believe there are several other options that you can add to beef it up some more.
