Default Need Advice on Selling Turbo S2000

I have a wonderful S2000 that I have to sell. It's a 2003 with about $20k of first-class custom work in it (300+HP turbo, intercooler, AEM EMS, rims and tires, carbon fiber, etc, etc) and only about 2,300 miles. Should I eBay it? AutoTrader? Some well-known consignment shop or S2000 specialist? I am thinking it needs a nationwide audience of people looking for this kind of car, since it is not technically CA smog legal (where I live). I can post pictures if anyone wants to see what it looks like.

How about price, since this kind of car isn't NADA, etc... What do you think I could sell it for? What would be a good starting price?

It's a beautiful car and I love it dearly, but I just can't afford to keep it. I appreciate any and all suggestions!

Ebay, you won't get much from this forum. Good luck to you.

FWIW, You may want to think about taking the parts off and putting it back to stock as much as you can. You would probably get more money that way by selling the parts used and the car stock.

Use the autotrader.com and/or E-bay Motors

ebay.

this board is notoriously harsh on selling heavily modded S's for more than a small premium over the going rate for a stocker. probably rightly so.

You might get lucky on Ebay. But your best bet is to take all that shit off and dont tell the person your selling it to that it was on there in the first place. Modded cars are NOT in demand.....

Thanks for all the tips. eBay is probably a good place to start. For those who asked about pictures, you can see it at www.thewoodruffs.com/s2000.

motowood-

that's a ton of work (and cash) put into that automobile.

do you REALLY have to sell it? i'm thinking that you're gonna get killed (financially speaking) selling it. i'm not sure who would buy such a car. you're in for over $50K, that's up against some serious hardware. i'm not sure that you can strip it either. tough situation, imho. my wild-ass guess for value would be in the mid $30's, maybe upper-mid thirties. it's very difficult to finance such a modified vehicle. maybe, just maybe, you can find a friend of one of these rich kids who seem to everywhere on this site. it's gonna take "daddy" money to buy that car.

best of luck to you.

Yeah, Ace, it'll be a loss, but that's the way these things are. I think mid to high 30's is probably about right too.

Hey, the sun finally came out and I took some more pictures today that came out great. They are all at www.thewoodruffs.com/s2000, in the top few rows. Some of my favorites are (they're clickable):
