Sounds like a very good deal on an '03 assuming nothing is wrong with it.

Take a close look at the car; find somewhere that is well lit. Check to see that all 10 VIN stickers are intact on the car (underside of hood, front bumper, R & L fender, R & L door jamb on door and body, trunk, rear bumper). Make sure that car engages vtec well (occurs at just under 6k rpm; should feel stronger if you hit it under full throttle rather than partial throttle).

Use lots of common sense!!! Ask for service records. The usual stuff. If anything...ANYTHING seems out of line or can't be explained by the owner, be prepared to walk away.

Good luck with it!

This is the one with 4K miles on it right? I would definately look into it. Get in Vtec and check out the power. If it lags, then back off and part ways. Most likely they are just selling due to funds or weather. Check the oil and how the tranny shifts. Just get a feel for it and see how you like it.

Also, check the FAQ's in the sticky above. That is full of info on what to look for.

Who is this person that is following me?

Sounds like you may just get lucky, and not lucky for the owner (a wife that makes him get rid of the car?!? Sheesh, no wonder why we women are given bad reps ). Hopefully things work out for you. Spa's are great!!!

Sounds "too" good. Check the paint all over to make sure it matches. Open the doors and check the edges of the paint to see if it's been repainted (the paint would be higher than the sticker, instead of the sticker higher than the paint.) Make sure the doors close properly and all the gaps are consistent. Try to find some train tracks to drive over to listen for sqeaks or sqeals. See if he has a mantence log.

Guys,

I just checked out the car tonight. It looked sharp. All the edges and door align correctly. Paint looks original (eventhough it was at night and hard to see).

Just a curious question, the car has 15k miles. The rear tires are all "worn" out. There isn't an ounce of thread?? Is it normal?? I remember seeing another car last year with 8k miles and the tires were "gone" too.

The tire ware is normal, for that price of the car you can afford appx. $375 for a new set of rear S02's.Usually rear tires on this car last between 10-15k miles.
