Default Need Brand New S2000 Price

I just went to Honda dealership and I asked for 2005 S2000. They sold the last one they had but they told me they can get more if I want to. And I asked what is the best price they can give me on this car since there's new 2006 is coming in around Nov. And the saleman told me it's going to be around $30k. But I saw once from the newpaper ad saying brand new 2005 S2000 for $28500. So I told him and he told me to get a proof and he can give me a match price or he can even do better.

So I am asking who ever got the new 2005 S2000 and I want to see how much you got it for, before tax and destination fee. I think even without any proof I think I can get it for around $29k but I want to see if I can do better.

So, please post here for your price. I like to bring it to the dealership and see if I can get the best deal.

Thanks.

I doubt the dealer would accept people's post as proof. I think he meant that if you can show him some add or another offer sheet from other dealer.

just call or email other dealers in a 300-400 miles radius and have them try to beat eachother. email is best cause you now have proof. have them fax you the quote w/ invoice sheet. now you have leverage to buy at the best price in your area.

we both know you won't drive that far but the dealer doesn't know if you're that determined.

I got 29.4 on 8/27 and was very satisfied. But that was a month ago, maybe you can find 28.5...But that is well below invoice, so watch out for add-ons and finance terms!

500 over invoice is fair.

Hi folks,

I've been talking to a few dealers and the best price I can get for a closeout 2005 model is $29,320 plus destination, tax & license. Shouldn't I be able to do better? I really want the new blue color (2006 model) but it looks like the price will be ~$750 higher, not to mention they will not go down as low since it isn't end of the year. Are dealers flexible at all with these or am I approaching this the wrong way? When I tell most dealers that another local dealer can do $29,300 (and can they beat it) they tell me to buy from the other dealer and that's it.

For folks who bought earlier in the year...~April, what did you pay?

Is $29,320 a fair price or should I be able to get one for less now that it's mid October?

Yes it is a fair price. As long as it's the color you want I don't see why you're making it this hard on yourself

I paid $30,000 in Feb..and i'm an employee. And I sold SDCJ's car to him. I think you got a good deal on your hands. You're buying the car at Net so theoretically Any dealer could match if they wanted to. If they're letting you buy the car at that price, they're pretty determined... I agree with SDCJ though, look at the Buyer's order carefully, and make sure you're not paying for anything you didn't ask for, and ask to see blank one before hand. There's a Honda dealer aournd here that has a $500 "service fee" built into their buyers order...it's crap. Just another way to lowball you on a price quote, but get you in the end

I bought a new '05 back in February for $30,250, not including TTL here in the Seattle area -- it actually had a $4k second sticker. I was very comfortable with my purchase price at the time, and still am today.
