i dont think 12's and "bang for the buck" go together. if you just wanted a fast drag car, maybe you shouldnt have bought an s2000.

some people just dont get it....

why buy an S to drag... THESE ARE NOT DRAG CARS. these are high revving sports cars for the twisty tracks, not a see who can get the fastest time down a stupid little bit of road.....

the S is already tuned... is has 240hp for a stock on a 2liter engine... maybe a 2.2 for you american folks as some of you need the extra torque to even drive it.

Second off... drag cars are normally high liter, high torque engines , the S engine is not like this at all.

The S has a good 50/50 weight distrabution and great handling.... why on earth buy a car like this if all you need is engine power.

Im also sorry to say that mods for this car do not do much... Yes a turbo or supercharger... or for some poeple NOS( ) but there really is not an easy way of getting any more power out this engine N/A, a I/H/E will maybe gain you a few horses but nothing to boast about.

cheap mods........ dont exist for this car my friend, not ones that will boost performance for what you want to do.

oh and to finish off the rank.. if you want to beat your friends mustang take it to the track!

While I agree about your sentiments about what the S2k was originally designed for Adam_Rob_UK, I don't think it's fair to judge him on what he uses his S2k for. In the end, it's his car. If he wants to make it a drag car, let him. Afterall, acceleration is important at the track too

To the OP: There aren't any cheap mods. Your only hope is if he can't drive well. Otherwise, look to spend thousands to get it into the 12s to beat him.

just change your gear ratios so you top out at about 110
you'll run great quarter mile times

fast + cheap doesn't exist for the S2K. There is no "chip" for the engine. you can get a new ECU (very expensive) or a piggypack to alter the map, or get a VFAC2 to alter the A/F and vtec engagement though.

get a supercharger with aftercooler (~5000), and 4.77 or 4.57 gears in a comptech pumpkin for $1300 ish. This should get you into the 12s.. but with a blower you should get header and 70mm exhaust too, which is another $1800

how about you invite your buddy to an open road course/ track day, then he will have to spend money to compete with YOU.

What kinda mods does this mustang have? If you have gears I/E/CAI and then tune it with a VAFC 2 of something then you should be his stock to mild modded mustang
