Default Need help...

I just bought the S2K last week. But I haven't try to launch it yet. I'm going to the track with my friend on Wednesday and I wanted to learn how to launch first. What RPM should I launch it at and so forth. Help, thanks...

Have you launched any other car? How long have you been driving stick shift for? I don't suggest you launch the s2k. Differential breaks easily if not done correctly. Otherwise, if you decide to do it, a 7,000 rpm clutch drop gives the best results (number-wise) if done correctly. Be careful

Been driving a stick for 4 years, I have a 5th Gen Honda Prelude with 8lbs Fidanza flywheel and stage 2 or 3 ACT clutch. So I know how to launch, but different car launch differently so I just wanted to ask how to do it right. So I can get the best time.

Slightly interested too...

I tried launching it at 4k and it didn't go so well. Had fun burning out though ;p

Ouch, 4k burnout? For best times as I said 7k is just about right. The easiest thing I can tell you is to get up to 7k with clutch depressed, drop clutch, and press on the gas (slowly at first then rapidly faster and faster)...

Before you launch your S2000, I would suggest you do some searches.

Look for people who have replaced their diffs, half-shafts, etc. Then seach for other posts from those same people and I'll bet you find most of them are drag racing their S2000s.

It just doesn't hold up very long to that type of driving.
