need help.
Sorry about this. I know this is not a s2000 related story. on the other hand, thank god that this didn't happen to my S2K. here is what happen:
I brought my car in last Thursday to check the noise from the engine, they found the problem and ordered the part. they said it will be done by Next monday, which is today. however, today, my dealer called me and tell me that my 2000 Celica had been broken in in there lot by some, and my stereo was gone, the trim has damage also. however, he said that Toyota will not cover my lost, and ask my insurance company to pay. I want to know is this fair?
I have a aftermarket stereo, will this play a major role in this argument.
as a foreigner, I really need you guys' help.
thank you very much.

Go ahead and report the claim to your insurance first. it willnot affect your rates as this si usually covered under you comprehensive coverage. They will likely settle this with the dealership's insurance company. I personally thnk its a cop out that the dealerships dont take responsibility for cars left in their care, but it seems to be an insudtry standars to protect themselves from all sorts of stuff.
Depending upon your insurance carrier and coverage your aftermarket stuff may or maynot be covered. Some cover all equipment bolted down in your car, ie amps, deck, eq, etc...so long as you have the recipts and such to prove you had it. Some others require an add-on policay or rider that covers aftermarket stuff.
Good luck with it.
