Manny,
Which dealer did you go to? You might want to call a few other dealers for estimates. . . Also, if you don't want to pay Honda labor rates, you should try Hond-Aid (its a shop in Ridgewood, NJ that only works on Hondas and Acuras). . . They do very good work at 1/2 to 2/3 the cost of most dealers. . . I used to take my old accord there (the Prelude & the S2K have extended warranties, so I used the dealer). . .
If you need more info, call me. . . You have my numbers. . .

they told me it's a wear issue and nothing else...so it didn't matter about any TSBs...i found the Majestic Honda site where i ordered all my parts from earlier and they have everything for $330 which is why below the $550+ the dealer wanted to charge me....they want $750 for labor alone....i'm not paying that

If it is a wear issue, the new part should be the same as the old part. Ask the dealer why Honda changed the part numbers for the disks if there ws nothing wrong with the old ones. Do not simply accept there word. Call the regional office and raise a little hell, politely of course

The ACT Clutch is a re-worked Honda Clutch. Quoting Mike B at Comptech, "ACT modifies the pressure plate by changing the fulcrum point. The requires disassembling the pp, then machining part of it, then reassembling. They sell their disc as a stock replacement disc, not an upgrade, because the quality of the stock disc is very good."
As far as installation goes, I was going to reference The Reverend's page for his installation pictures, but he has it down at the moment. The installation costs shouldnt' be 750 bucks, but they might be a bit out of pocket.
I'd pressure the service department to perform this along with the TSB and go ahead and upgrade the clutch while you are at it - depending on how many miles you have put on, along with clutch wear, it might be well worth it.

i ordered the replacement clutch from Majestic honda for about 330 total but the clutch i ordered is model# 005(last 3 digits)
the tsb calls for replacing this part with model#025(last 3 digits) so i'm wondering if i should call back Majestic for the newer part. think i'll do that today...i've already placed the order for the part and it's only 60something bux for the one piece that would be covered by the TSB and my dealer would take forever to get the part replaced....at least this way i can get it done much faster....thank you all for your quick responses and advice.
