Default Need help with a color combination!

Hello S2Ki Community!

I don't post here too often, but this site has been a great resource during my S2k build.

The reason I am posting is to ask for some help. I am partially color blind. Blues and purples mesh. Brown and green. Red and pink. Yellow and green. Etc. I see vivid colors (so I think), but my choices may not be appealing to the masses (and to what seems to be common logic).

I have built many cars from the ground up. On this project, I decided to cheat and buy a car that had all the body work already done. I purchased KJayP2's car. I bought it sight unseen and had it shipped.

The car came with an untuned Comptech SC kit that included FMIC. The car wasn't fast enough, so I purchased a GT35 Full-Race kit.
I just gained access to a larger garage and decided to go V8!

We are at the point of the build where I need to get everything powder coated. The wheels, rollbar, and underhood / engine components.

The car is Lotus Krypton Green

The engine bay is black.

I didn't want to do an all black engine, as it will get lost in the black engine bay. Painting the engine bay is going to be a pain. I have to paint it, but I don't want to "color change" it.

My wife says the white wheels are a bit much. Her words "You don't want crazy colored wheels with that crazy paint color".

So I need some help. Obviously the final choice is mine. I'm just curious if some one can give me some direction.

This is the color we have been thinking about:

My powdercoater said we can use an color from Prismatic Powders.

Keep in mind how an LS1 engine will look in an S2000 (Not my picture, stolen from Import Muscle)

You don't see much of the engine. Maybe we could coat the radiator, catch can, water pump, valve covers, and motor mounting plates (the plates on the face of the heads). I can paint the fuel rail covers to match the car and the intake manifold to match the powder coat color.

Also keep in mind I'm doing braided radiator, heater, brake, and AC lines. Possibly black covered, possibly stainless.

Any input would be appreciated!

I really like that green and white combo. Personally, I'd continue with that theme through the engine bay as well.

However, that grey on those wheels you posted look great too.

You could leave the engine bay black, and simply paint the valve cover(s)/engine trim green to match the body and leave everything else black. I think that'd look really nice.

I too have problems choosing combinations. When its after the fact, I seem to have better tastes on what is good and bad so I defer to the wife most of the time.
However I do like the wheels with the prismatic look.

Hard to duplicate that color in photoshop, but I gave it a whirl.

I'd go for a silver or grey, the white is a bit much for me.

I like your current combo. The lime green and white wheels are a good match IMHO. The darker wheels are not so great with that body color.
