Default Need help deciding to purchase a 2003 S2000...

Well, I am new and wanted to see if I can find some help. My boss acquired a salvage s2000 that was salvaged due to an accident. It's been repaired and I was told the frame was straight; however the engine spun a rod bearing and is not drivable. Well, long story short, he is willing to sell it to me for $5500 and it's a 2003 salvage S2000 with 25k miles. I would really appreciate any help and advice on purchasing this or not. Thanks.

I was told it was overreved because of NOS. My boss would be the second owner after the accident. And I am not sure if the first owner abused it. All I know is that the first owner spun out and damage the rear driverside corner and the two front corners. He refused to the repairs by the insurance so they salvage the car which is when my boss purchased it after it was fixed. Then had a spun rod bearing and been sitting in his garage. So any inputs on if this is a good deal to go ahead on or any advice? Any comments are appreciated. And thanks for the quick response.

NOS..., stay away. Makes you go fast but ends up doing in your engine. If you have money to burn then buy it and replace a bunch of parts..., see what a used engine might cost.
