Default Need help with exhausts

Hey guys,

I am looking to purchase an exhaust in the next week, I've heard a lot of great things about the HKS, and in fact I've heard Tim's. What does every one think on this subject, keep in mind I want to spend around $800.

Thanks for your help

spend the money on Spoon. Not only does it sound awesome, but it makes a big hp gain! NO dual exhaust makes any hp gain on the s2000.

Hmmmm! Let me try to picture this. The car has twin exhaust tip cutouts. Put on a single tip exhaust system. It looks kinda like ......... it's a gimp, handicapped. Isn't there supposed to be a wheel chair tag hanging from the rear view?
(It's just me. I prefer dual exhausts.)

One thing about the Mugen exhaust, which I have--it's a LOT lighter than stock. Sorry, no, I don't have numbers--maybe someone else does. (I had it installed and didn't think to have the two systems weighed at the time, but the mechanic did say he was amazed at the weight difference).

mugen weighs in at about half of stock's weight. Spoon and J's both weigh less than half of stock's weight.

we have spoon's exhaust in stock, give me a ring, let's work something out

I fretted over this question for some time; here's the results of my research:

Duals:
Stock: 50 lbs. (free!)
HKS: ~50 (~$800)
Nippon: 40 (?)
Comptech: 37-38 (?)
Supersprint: 37 ($1300)
Mugen: 25 ($1500)

Singles:
Spoon: ~25 ($1000)
J's Racing: 16 ($1000)
Amuse: 8 (>$2000)

I won't touch the HP issue with a ten meter cattle prod.
There's other exhaust choices, but this covers the weight and price extremes of both types. Weight range is about the same as 1/2 tank of gas, so let your desired combination of looks, sound, and price dictate.

Neuspeed: ~35 pounds, $878 from Import Development (yours truly)

[plug]
Spoon: we have it on special, call us
Amuse: we have it on special, call us

Thanks for all the help guys,

I think the right choice for me would be the HKS or Neuspeed. Which one has a deeper, meaner sound to it?

I am a HKS dealer and a Neuspeed one, but if anyone knows where I can get it cheaper I would appreciate it.

Thanks
