Default Need Help, I have an urgent question on gas octane!!

Ok, i was extreemly tired this morning, and i accidently pu tin the "plus" gas, instead of "supreme". Am i going to have any problems? My car is totally stock, but i like to v-tec on the way home from work. Can i still do this? What are my options at this point? How bout a can of Octane booster? Please help me!

You should be fine. However, I would take it easy while driving on this tank of gas, to play it safe from detonation, just in case.

Its not going to cause you any major problems as the engine was built to primarily use 98RON, but can also use 95RON. I am assuming that Plus = 95RON and Supreme is 98+RON??

You can use an Octane Booster (I use Millers) to increase the octane level without any problems, but if you don't it will only take a couple of tanks of "Supreme" to get the octane levels back to normal.

Don't use an additive.

Personally, I think you'll be ok, just don't push it as hard as you normally do, drive it smooth and normal (for a car, not an S2000) and fill up when you can.

Other than that you could syphon your tank into another vehicle or can.

I bet you'll never do that again huh?

You may want to let them know that they don't have proper labeling on the pump so that it doesn't happen to anyone else.

Regular gas won't do any damage, but you'll probably notice a drop in fuel economy because the knock sensors will adjust the spark advance to prevent knocking. This happens because we have a high compression engine, and higher octane fuel burns slower, preventing the car from knocking.

When I take long trips in my car, I use regular gas because I'm basically not doing much of anything besides cruising at a relatively constant speed. In that case, the added cost of high octane fuel is just a waste of money. Also, the Owners Manual says it's OK to use if necessary.

Once I put desiel in my car... It acted funny for about 2 weeks, but after that, it was cool.

Don't flame me, I was intoxicated.

I'm not going to flame you, I'm just trying to understand how, even intoxicated, you fit the diesel nozzle into the tank of your car? Unless it was an older vehicle...
