I was thinking of getting comptech or an AEM intake but dont know which one would give a better sound? I was told AEM was that way to go but then i also heard that with a comptech cai you dont have to worry about the water i dont know if its true, but if someone can let me know which intake would be the way to go with sound?

 

The AEM CAI is louder for sure. So if sound is your number one concern, the AEM makes sense.

 

but is the AEM intake sound nice or is it like a crapy loud sound?

 

I think it sounds great. I had one in my '01. Very loud in VTEC.

I *might* get one again, but I'm not certain on what I want to do on my '04 yet.

If the sound is badass then i can becareful when i drive in the rain but that is if the sound is badass so is the sound better than the comptech?

 

I have an HKS Racing Suction Intake. It sounds bad as hell, doesn't worry about water, and looks goooood. They are hard to find though. Just my 2cents.

 

if you have a beater then i think it is o.k. to get AEM.
there is very little chance i think that would occur tho,
but hydrolock is not fun.

i have a beater so i wouldnt care less when it rains.
