How accurate do you think your information regarding new versus old disk is? If what you say is true I'm willing to put up with the noise.

Hey guys,

I had the clutch disk and pressure plate replaced.
Initially, my clutch was noisy, so they offered to replace upon grind fix. But, when tranny was pulled, they said my disk was toast. They tried to get me to pay for it, stating that it was a wear issue, and not noise.

After a little fight from me, they replaced it all free of charge. I got lucky I guess.

As far as the new part, it is a disk only. (I scanned and posted the TSB for that a couple of weeks ago)
The new disk can me more noisy, but is not necessarily.
Initially, when they put the new upgraded disk in, I did notice a lot of noise. After about 100 miles, the noise became extremely annoying. So, I went back.

They put another one in, and it has been very quiet for about 400 miles now. Grips much better, and is very quiet(knock on wood!).

Just be persistent and you will get it done right. Like I said, they had my tranny out twice in 2 weeks, but now I am happy with it.

Good luck.

Thanks for all your response, I'll let everyone know how mine works out. Hopefully I won't have to bring it in a second time... The TSB 00-054 does mention that the new disc will be more noisier, but if it grabs better, I'll be happy. This is great though, having all this info to bring to them
