Need help with replacement convertible top
So I'm in the market for a replacement convertible top and am having a hard time trying to decide which material I should go with.
I'm pretty sure I'm going with a replacement top made by Robbins, they seem to be the main choice for new tops.
I've read quite a few threads about these tops but haven't really heard if they last.
I hear the canvas has a deep rich black to it but I'm concerned if its going to fade faster than the OEM fabric.
Does anyone know the pros and cons of both?
Which is the better choice here?
Thanks

I dont have the canvas top but I do have a robbins top. I'm not sure if it was the shop that installed the top but I have these annoying wrinkles in the top corners near the rear window, and I have noticed them on other robbins tops as well. In addition, I have the defrosted version and the lines in the window for the defroster are much bigger than the stock ones. When I went to get the windows tinted, the tint guy had trouble getting the tint to wrap around them well, he showed me another s2k that was there with me who had an oem top and he didnt have that issue at all.
If I could do it all again I would opt for the oem top even though it's a little more expensive.

I have the canvas Robbins top without the defroster. The color IS deeper black and it seems to hold up very well. I had it out in Vegas (heat) for a year and am now back in SoCal (salt air).
I have noticed some stretching in the material and there is the slightest sag between the bars in one section. There is also a raised section along each side of the window, as if that area is under more tension than the OEM appears. I think that is what the previous reply was referring to.
All in all I am happy with it. Robbins has great customer service. They stood by their product when I needed a replacement. Different story though.
