Default Need Help with slotted rotors

I have been looking for some pictures that may answer this. But I have seen some and they even conflict with my question.

I have just bought and installed slotted rotors. I am getting tons of rotation squeeks. Even when turning it by hand. I did take off my race pads and put an somewhat used set of oem pads on to start with the new rotors.
I am getting some serious brake dust too.
I am thinking that the rotors may be on the wrong side of the car. Meaning the slots are going backwards. Right now they look just like wanabe's photo I have linked here.

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...threadid=129762

The driver side shown here is exactly like mine. The slots are going in the opposite direction of the tire rotation. Or like this / / / not forward like this

I have seen photos going both directions.

Can anyone tell me the right way. Photos do work best.

I think I should but my race pads back on too. The stocks are being eaten up.
I am not getting any brake fad or pulsing, just squeeks. They do seem to be less when turning right. And even go away at times till I hit a bump and then they come back again.

Any Help would be great.

Thanks

Aquatic

Slotted, drilled, etc. rotors are harder on pads. If they could be made to work like conventional rotors, then you would see more of them installed from the factory. You can't have the best of both worlds.

Never use used brake pads with new rotors. If your going to use new rotors always use new pads. You never know how your old pad/used pads have worn. Sometimes the wear is never straight.

Anyway here is a picture of my slotted rotors with the correct way of installation. Hope this helps you out...

Confusion

Certain rotors are directional, if you bought powerslots they arent!
rotors like Stoptech are..

many rotors can be installed either direction...
one direction causes more bite and is more aggressive at stopping (and eats brake pads too).
btw, it can take about 500 miles to break-n the new rotors. take it easy on the brakes during the first miles on the rotors. you will get more dust early on than after they are broken-in.
mine is the "non-aggressive" install:

What kind of advantage do you see with slotted, drilled, slotted/drilled, etc. compared with the standard S2K?

I thought the standard S2K already had great braking ability with not much fade and such?

no difference in pedal feel, just better cooling, and longer life

stock brakes are great for the street, except that they are ugly!!!
i changed mine to get rid of the rust. the one thing that i did not like about the design.
the rotors are lighter if drilled and slotted... again, thats not why i changed mine. the minor weight difference did not matter to me. the rust did matter, and now its gone!
