OK, I test drove an 02 I liked on Saturday, 2 owner car, needs a couple little things but is otherwise pretty nice and the buyer is willing to take care of one of the issues. It comes with an aftermarket HU with ipod hook up, front factory lip, and skunk springs. Mileage is in the 48k range.

Another car popped up on autotrader now that is an 04, with miles in the low 40k range, 1 owner and completely stock and the pictures he just sent are immaculate, it looks like a new car outside and inside. Only thing is that the carfax shows a moderate wreck on the rear bumper which jives with his story of a car bumping him in the parking lot and he needed to file a police report for insurance because the guy split. Price is $1k more than the 02.

If I hadn't have seen the silver 04 I'd be buying the red 02, but now I'm on the fence, I mean its only $1k more for a car that has lower miles, is 2 years newer, and looks perfect in the high res pics, and he sent lots of pictures so there is no doubt. And it has the two-tone red/black interior.

Thoughts?

Sorry, its an 04 not an 05, I fatfingered the year.

I had an 01 before and loved it but I think I'd be perfectly happy with the Ap2 and its newer front bumper cover, headlights, taillights, and bump in the torque.

No contest...get the 04...sounds like it is unmolested newer and lower miles.

 

Newer one. You'll get your $1k back at the end when you resell.

 

get the newer one! love the red/black too. The only way I'd get the 02 is if it was modded to taste or if it had significantly lower miles.
