So i have a friend who is going to get rid of his S. He has an oem hardtop on it but needs a convertible top. We concluded on trading his top for mine, plus a thousand dollars on my end. Both tops are in perfect shape and I don't mind losing the convertible top cause I would probably end up selling it anyways whenever I bought a hardtop. Only thing is that I have to paint his hardtop and get the back window tinted.

NO that is retarded, if you ever sell your S a lot of people will be turned away by that, also painting the hardtop might not be as cheap as you originally thought. I would never ever do it. THINK LOGICALLY if you save up another $800 you could buy a used one on here and keep the soft top and retain the value of the S.

I'd keep the soft top and add the hardtop.

I wouldn't - to me the whole point of driving this car is to do it with the top down!

^^ I think that might have been directed at macdaddies' "retarded" comment.

But to your question FTW...you can easily pic up another top frame if you need one. Probably even one from a MY02+ so you have the glass rear window. I know of a couple of them for sale in my area.

I actually don't plan on selling the car because I am slowly turning it into a race car. I would prefer a Mugen top but I thought this was a good enough of a deal that with the money I save buying this top, I could put it into another aspect of the car that would justify not getting the exact top I want. Plus, I just think it's a damn good deal anyways considering I never drive top down even though I live in South Florida. It'll also let me rest better because of the ridiculous theft rate down here.
