Yeah, the 200 miles worried me a bit too, although I think I put about 6 miles on it on my test drive. I drove it around once with the top up, and once with the top down. The break in period is what concerns me, as I doubt too many people take it easy on a test drive. What exactly is the "break in" on this car?

You hinted as to what you should do in your last reply, and I was thinking the same thing. Get a MY04. It is probably better suited for your driving style. The pre 04 models are a little wild in the rear. Honda softened the car enough now to open up the market so the avg John/Jane can handle it. Truth.

also.....you are NOT getting a good enough deal on the MY03.

New 04 are available for just under $31k, so there is no way an 03 with 200 thrasher miles on it should be within 2-3 grand of that.

I don't know a lot about how car dealerships work, but what is the REAL markup on a car?

My understanding is that the car invoice is 29,700 and there is a "Hold Back" of about 1,000. Does that mean that if the dealership sells it for 28,700 they are breaking even? I'm sure this is not the case. What is the real number? I'm just curious about this in general.

Honestly dont worry TOO much about the break in miles. Most all cars are ragged at the dealer (unless you get it off the truck). I had 70 miles when I bought my S since I didnt want to wait and I drove it off the floor. Ive had no problems so far and everything seems to be running real smooth.

Also, I forgot to mention. Tax around here is at least 7.8%, so that's factored into the 30,200 OTD with my trade in. A lot of people are still saying that this is WAY overpriced, so I'm curious as to what most people think is a fair price for this car. If you could, please include how you got to that number.
