NEED some advice on bent frame in new s2000 :(
Hey all, I've been ghostin' it on s2ki.com for a while now, and I recently put in an order/deposit at a local dealership for a new suzuka blue 2003 s2000.
I was supposed to go to the dealership today to give them the check, but they called right before I left and told me that they couldn't sell the car to me, because they found out that the 'frame was bent.'
Apparently, they had to ship the s2k from another dealer on a flatbed, but something went wrong when they tied it down, so it bent the frame, and they couldn't close the doors. They said that they are searching their other dealerships for another one, but don't know how if they can get another one in that color.
The dealership originally wanted me to pick up the car this past Monday, but I couldn't make it.. so them finding out that the frame was bent TODAY seems sketch to me.. I don't know what to do now.
I've been looking forward to getting this car for over a year now, and I've been saving my money.. its perfect the way it is, I'm not really interested in getting a 2004 model, especially if its going to cost more.

I'm going to go into the dealer on Friday to ask them a couple questions to make sure that they aren't
me about finding the bent frame today.
What kind of questions should I ask them, and do you think I should still do business with this dealer?? The reason I chose them was because they seemed to be able to get a suzuka blue, and the price that I wanted.
I could get a black or white at another dealer, but for a higher price. Any advice is appreciated

Please allow me to translate from Lying Car Salesmanese to English:
car has bent frame = we found someone who was willing to pay more than you and sold it to them.
or = we made a deal with you but as it turns out we couldn't actually get the car so we are still trying.
I'd bet a dime to a dollar that when you go to look at that particular S2000, it's not there. They'll probably say they sent it back to the other stealership or something to that effect.
The bottom line is that when you try to make a deal on a car that a dealership does not actually have on hand, especially if they say they are going to get it from another dealership, then you are very prone to end up in a situation like this. Most car salesmen do not have a clue what honesty and integrity are and could care less about what kind of an effect their BS has on you or your opinion of them. I had a similar situation happen to me when I was buying my wife's '96 Integra. We made a deal and then they called my wife, not me, to tell me that they only red Integra that they could find had a $900 paint protection package already applied to it. They said they were willing to give it to me at their cost of about $700. Needless to say, they made a deal with me on a car they didn't have and had no intention of getting. After calling around some, I found it at another dealership for $200 more than the first stealership had origionally quoted me.
Needless to say, I'd be very hesitant to do business with that dealership. Get on the phone and call dealerships that are anywhere close to where you live. If they can afford to flatbed it in, then you can drive to pick it up. Also, given that the S2000 market has declined, you should not really have to pay more than invoice (plus tax and other real fees (not stealership paperwork fees or whatever else they dream up)) for one. They may act like the S2000 is super rare, and it is compared to an Accord or Civic, but the pool of potential S2000 buyers is very small too.

BS...how the hell can a tie down bend the frame??!!! Tell them you want that Blue Suzuka at the price you negotiated or you'll spread your experience with that dealer all across the internet....ask to actually see the car with a mechanic and point out where the bent frame is....I call BS!! Frikkin dealers.....
so what could do something to the frame?
im just trying to get a feeling of what else could have happened before I step into the dealership Friday, because I'm pretty aggravated right now

Take your business somewhere else.
There are (or should be) many more dealerships who would treat you much better. I'd call around and find a dealer who actually has the color in stock.

like I said...them you belong to a local honda club, you post on honda car forums and can warn people about your experience....they better get you your suzuka for the price you asked or face negative reviews to be read by thousands of potential buyers....tell them that.
