I think I can safely echo what others have told you. Count your blessings. 02 Acura TL. It's no sports car but in most countries more car then people will reasonably own. Keep your nose down. Women are really a waste of time until you want something serious. Buying dinner, yeah money sink. Get that car paid off, start saving and get 6 months living expenses aside before you buy something. My suggestion would be to get a down payment ready via pretending you have a car payment. I live by the notion rent/mortage shouldn't be more then 1 weeks wage and your car payment no more then 3 days work. If you follow some simple money rules and keep up this hard work, money will never be a stress for you.

Really vale your service, the humbleness of asking this publicly, and the sacrifice you've made for your family. Shows your real character.

There will be plenty of S2000's for you to pick from when you're ready and able

This is very true my friend. It would be nice to have someone to talk to every now and again though. Thank you very much for your kind words. I really appreciate it and it makes me feel better about myself.
Well I think you're doing that here and now. My best advice would be to start building your personal network locally. It all seems like a challenge now but I'm sure as you add new people into your life and get your direction all sorted out; this part of your life will seem like a small blip of trouble on your way in life.

If you see someone you want to talk to, introduce yourself. Women can be so emotional sometimes and get confused friend vs. more. I've never had a female friend remain a female friend. There have been two in my life whom I treated like sisters. 15 years ago and more recently. In both cases I came to find out the oddness I experienced in that relationship was because they were 'being my friend' because they wanted more. A few years ago a female friend asked me to stop telling her about the dates I went on between my wives. Seemed so odd. Get a GF and poof no talka to Rob anymore. Go figure. Who really knows why right? Not sure you can really help that from happening, we're wired that way (in no way an ego trip story here).

Guy friend, you can hit the gym with, disagree with, even fight with and still be friends. You try that with a female friend and well let me know how that goes.

Focusing on your education and a dream car you can reasonably achieve great goals!

And men are really a waste of time until you want something heavy lifted. Dealing with them constantly trying to get into your pants, yeah, a real time sink.

No, I don't feel that way as a general rule, but my point is to say that y'all are painting with a rather broad brush with the commentary about ALL WOMEN and you might consider that it's getting such that the wading boots might need to be put to use soon.

We weren't trying to be sexiest here. It will just be a dynamic he experiences as a male/female relationships from a males view. Similarly you experience guys trying to get in your pants. I've not had that problem myself.

How about we stick to the topic of advice about the OP's goal of getting an S2000 and methods that will help him achieve that, rather than getting into characterizations of what you THINK I have experienced or anything about male/female relationships? Whatever you may have been trying to accomplish or not, what you did in fact do was make a sweeping generalization which is not accurate and is demeaning to all individuals.

One of my best friend's is female... I could care less if she's a girl or a guy...I've been friends with her for almost 20 years. I don't want to get in her pants and she isn't calling me to do any heavy lifting

anyway time to steer the ship back on course here.....

I think everyone has already touched on the key points already so I don't have much more to add. I'll look forward to seeing you in the Intro section down the road with your s2000. Best of luck.
