Marc,

I have to say I'm surprised how much cooperation you have gotten from your dealership on this problem. I have never had a dealer work w/ me like this to resolve an annoyance in my car. I wish you the best of luck...

Thanks, PJ. Guess what, folks. They put in a new axle. Still no change!!! They have done everything they can think of and it still makes the noise! the only thing left is to change the knuckle. They're going to do that today and see if that solves it. If that doesn't work, they are calling in Honda because they can't fix it. They don't even know how this works because they have NEVER been stumped and had to call in Honda. I love being the first person with such a challenge!!! I need to I am close to

OK guys. It's FIXED. Are you ready for this? They put in a new left axle, new left rear bearings, and an abs sensor. They changed out the left knuckle. All to no avail. Then they noticed that there was a loose wheel weight. THAT was it!! It was a partial weight that was clipped to the wheel. At low speeds it didn't make any noise. At above 60 or so, it pulled out from the wheel just enough and made a clicking sound. At 80 or so, centrifical force kept it away from the wheel. When turning left, it got worse, when turning right it got better. How do ya like that!!!! So, I got a lot of new parts just because of a wheel weight. Unbelievable!!! Gheesh! I thanked the service manager and the tech for staying with it. They were so frustrated. (As was I!) All's well that ends well!! Whew!

Unbelievable, eh? It was driving the tech absolutely crazy. He couldn't sleep at night. Now, he's finally at rest!! Thank God for small miracles and persistence.

Way to go, Marc!
I'll say this: your tech sounds like a keeper.
Hope this puts an end to your problems for awhile.

Marc

I'm curious, how did they find it? Was it purely by accident, or did they check the wheel in a last ditch effort?

Purely by accident. The guy helping the tech pulled off the wheel and noticed the clip wasn't seated right!!!
