Default Need some questions answered

Hey Guys,

Still new to S2KI, and to the S2000 world, for that matter! But, I'm loving everything about my S2000, and have found this website to be extremely helpful.

I was wondering a couple things though, and I did multiple searches, but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

What's the difference in the taillights, between a AP1 and a AP2? All I could find was that in 2002, they added a chrome ring in the AP1 taillights, but I couldn't find out why some people switch to AP2 taillights in their AP1. Pictures would be awesome!

What's the difference in the center console between the AP1 and AP2?

Roughly, How much does it cost to have a brand new soft top installed on a 2002 S2000?

Thanks!

The gallery is your friend. There are more than enough pictures to see the visual differences between AP1 and AP2 tailights.

Hey Isaiah, glad to hear everything is going well.

The taillights and the center console are just design changes between the 00-03 (ap1) and 04-09's (ap2). The ap2 taillights just look more updated, and also have built in LED's so they look good at night also.

I put ap2 taillights on my s2000 and love it. If you have an ap1 and are thinking about putting ap2 tails, be sure to do a lot of research on it. You have to cut some metal from the car, and it would help if you got the ap2 taillight wiring harness along with them. Here is a pic of mine.

Also the ap2 console is just a personal preference over the ap1 console. It mostly just looks sleeker so more people swap out their ap1 console for ap2's.

Soft tops for these cars are pretty expensive if you want a quality one. You would mainly just have to find the soft top you want, then find somewhere local to you to find out a ballpark price.

ap1

ap2

ap1

ap2 (cr) in this case

Please note, CRs have a magic ability to drive by themselves without a driver.

looks like it could possibly be on cruise control, and possibly on a dyno or something similar

but for someone new, it can get a bit confusing with people swapping their AP1's to AP2's
here's a AP1 with that chrome ring.

cruise control light does not appear to be on. It's a pretty bright green light.

I have an AP2 and I prefer the AP1 lights. They look Ebay with the silver plastic.
