We're going to design the leather owners manual case from scratch, so I'm looking for suggestions. You guys didn't like the handle on the design I posted, and I didn't like the zippers.

This one will be custom made for the S2000, so keep that in mind. The one I posted on the old board was a stock case that wasn't intended for a booklet in horizontal format, like the S2000 owner's manual.

I remember some posts on this topic on the old board, some with pictures, that were quite good. I'd like to take suggestions for the next few weeks. Based on the best ideas,we'll then create a design based and put it into production.

So let the suggestions begin!

Rick, I use the case for the owners manual that came with my Integra GS-R. Unfortunately, it's in my car which is in the shop for the transmission and seat belt work, so I can't post pictures.

It's a bi-fold case, with the hinge at the top. The S2000 manual fits perfectly in the lower half, sliding in a slot on the side.

The top half has four clear plastic pockets to hold business cards. I use this for my cards from my salesman, service advisor, master mechanic and the manager of the parts dept.

I think that there's a pen loop in the middle hinge.

I should have the car back on Wednesday, and I can post pictures then.

The 2001 Volvo I rented a couple of weeks ago had a horizontal manual inside a double folded case. It was actually pretty nice with no need to take the manual out to begin turning the pages; the back cover of the manual slid into a pocket. It would be great if you could check one out to see what you think.

The case that I had with my 99 SLK is nice..it is leather and will hold all the manuals...I kept the case when I got rid of the car for the S2000. It zips closed and has little compartments. It fits in the rear part of the upper compartment. Check one out if you can.

Simple and sleek, but with definite purpose. Like the S2K!

Perhaps you could do a multi-purpose case that fills the entire rear portion of the secret compartment holding not only manual but other items as well.

The trouble with that compartment is that there is no padding in the bottom of it for a start so anything loose in there bounces around making a noise when driving.

A removable compartmentalized leather case would be ace. How's that for a mouthful?

I would like a case that is slim enough so that the encased material will still fit in the pocket behind the seat (the one built into the seat, not the dealer added pocket). I'd rather use the top console storage area for other things.

If it can be made to house assorted papers, like the registration, insurance and business cards, and a pen, I'd be thrilled.

I found a case at an Acura Dealer that is delivered with the 3.2 TL, but it is far too large to fit in the seat back pocket of the S2K.

I agree, so a bi-fold is about the limit.. maybe a slot for the manual on one side and a clear plastic flap on the other to hold papers, cars, etc. The Nissan case from my wife

Don't have my S2K yet, arrives in couple of days, so I don't know what size or shape would work. But I think it would be nice to combine smooth leather with perforated leather like the S2K interior.
