Wow guys, good to see that for $75K Aus (vs $32K US and don't worry about the exchange rate 'cause let's face it salaries are approx the same in $ terms and you guys only pay max 28c in the dollar tax vs 48c for us) we get a couple of extra goodies in our Australian S2Ks. We get a leather zip up pouch for the manual (I keep mine wrapped in plastic and stored in the tool well in the boot (sorry - trunk). We also don't have to stuff around replacing the indicator (turn signal) lenses as they are already clear. Having said this, however, we don't get cruise control (not even as an option) and you will pay approx $750 for aftermarket.

Gee guys, as 9000REVS used to say, thank your lucky stars that you can afford the luxury of getting into a lather over something as irrelevant as this when we have so many starving mouths to feed in the world.

Here are pictures of the Acura owners manual case:

It's a fairly nice design.

Features I like: it has a stiff cover, several pockets, a pen slot, and a snap loop; it's not much bigger than the manual when it's zipped closed.

Features I don'l like: poor quality materials (don't have to worry about that with Rick on the job!); you have to take the manual out to open it; no room for maintenance receipts.

Just offering this as another source of ideas...

I like the Acura case that Tedster showed. Very nice, but no doubt it would look much nicer crafted in the Townsend leather and sized to match the S2K manual.

I would like to suggest it have pockets for:

the owner's manual
2 warranty booklets (car, tires)
a pen or two
business cards
insurance card
registration card

Plus, the S2000 logo on the outside

Nothing too complicated. I'd suggest something along the lines of the Acura one, except a horizontal, zippered case.

Inside cover, divided into two halves, for storing odd paperwork. Include pen holder. and perhaps a pocket flashlight?

Multiple plastic sleeves, sufficient for registration papers, insurance, accident reports, etc.

Plastic sleeve with multiple pockets for business cards (Honda Service/Sales/Parts and other services, such as AAA, repair shop, tire shop, etc.

Plastic sleeve for Warranty booklet.

Rear cover accepts back cover of owner's manual so the manual opens to the left. (Can you include a clip to hold the pages open?)

Maybe a page marker. Any chance of fitting a little book reading light on the top? (Perhaps too much to ask for!)

Oh! Did I say at the beginning: "Nothing too complicated!

Rick,

I think you said something about silver leather and yellow leather once. what about doing the color combos of the actual cars.. like Red with black trim. Silver with black or red trim. Black with Red trim. Yellow with black trim..(chiquita) so that the owners manuals are more personalized. maybe with a honda H or S2000 emblem ebroddered on the front.. of coarse if the permission is there.

The Acura case that I have looks the same as the one posted by Tedster. If so, it will not easily fit into the S2K. It is too thick (nearly 2") to fit in the seatback pockets and doesn't fit in either of the console compartments. It will fit into the large storage area in the tool kit (under the stiff board in the trunk well). I'd much rather have a slim case, not much larger than the owner's manual itself, so that it will fit in the seatback pocket.
