Default Need to vent my anger

So I know there are posts in the tech section about how to remove your rotors. I figured eh, I've changed rotors before, no biggy. Well...I ran into problems that I am sure others have as well. So I ordered cross-drilled slotted rotors awhile back..decided to finally put them on the S2k. Pull the wheels off, I noticed those 2 damn screws...Eh, no biggy..screwdriver will get them out..wrong! So I come in, search it..dang, I'm gonna need a hand impact. I go to the local autozone and ask for one, they kept thinking I wanted a torque wrench..then showed me their air impacts. I guess "getting in the zone" did me a whole lotta nothing. So I told them I'll go somewhere where they know what's going on. I then go buy one at our local parts place for $20. Come home, start hitting away...the driver side rear came off like a charm. I then moved onto the passenger rear, next screw came out fine, the other...well...not so good.. The bit broke off flush into the screw. After throwing the hand impact, and saying many words..I picked half the bit out, but the screw was done. So after about an hour of drilling it seems and a backache, the rotor is finally off. The fronts came off perfect. Now i'm putting on the brakes...everything is going good, and almost done until I get to the passenger rear once again. The piston won't compress far enough to get it over the pads. After another hour of trying to compress the piston, I bet my c-clamp. Awesome...So yes, I quit for the day. Maybe tomorrow I will have the courage to continue.

Why are you using a C-clamp to push the rear brake piston in? It is supposed to be turned in. I use my 3/4 inch extension (I think) off my screwdriver. It's a royal PIA.

You know you are supposed to turn the rear pistons instead of forcing them in with c-clamps right?

I know how you feel about trying to remove the rotor screws, I've been there before with my GSR. The main thing I'll always remember is that those are tightened to only 7 ft./lb of torque (on the Integra anyway). A mere flick of the wrist.

I used a VERY large phillips head screw driver and a sledge hammer to get the screws out. Pounding the screw driver into the screws and they came out with a little grunting.

As for the rear pistons, I struggled with them for an hour until I decided to read the Helm's manual sitting next to me, DUH!!!!! After I found out about the twist trick, they were no problem.

If your screws are stuck, the easiest way is to chisel them out. A few hits in the left direction will loosen them right up. The impact driver also works sometimes.

I usually pick up new stainless screws from ACE Hardware.
