Default Need your opinion please

I found a 2000 silver s2k with 4,150 miles. Private dealer, asking $27,900. The person claims the car was garaged for both years and was well taken care of. I haven't gotten a chance to check the car out or speak to him yet. What do you guys think of this deal? I'm pretty much shopping around for an used s2k in southern cali right now so if anyone knows a good spot to check out, please let me know. Thanks.

I bought my '01 about mid-September from a dealer for 26.5K with 18k miles (San Francisco area). It only had 2 chips in the front bumper (covered with touch-up paint). Other than that, it was clean. I would imagine you could find one even cheaper now. Just keep checking www.autotrader.com You'll get lucky!

I found an '01 in the Autotrader for $26.5K with 3.4K miles on it! Excellent condition!! It had upgraded door speakers, Voodoo knob, leather console cover and $1K neuspeed exhaust added as well. I had it shipped enclosed from Massachusetts for $1.6K....but it was worth the cost to ship...for the color I wanted (Silverstone/Red)with the right mileage!

I really took the time to find out about the owner and his lifestyle before I bought the car. He sent me 40 pictures of the car...his house and other cars were in the pictures (Audi TT, Land Rover, Range Rover, Jeep Cherokee).....He's a dentist and just purchased a new Mini Cooper.....he's a car buff! I knew the S2K was well taken care of!

I think you can get a good picture of s2k values from Autotrader....and you can get a good deal....just do your homework!!

Okay, that's all for my advice...it worked for me!

Thanks, I appreciate all the feedback. So would you guys say autotrader is the best place to look for a s2k?
