i work at a bank, and you won't believe how some bad ppl are with finances.

if you're 17 and you're driving an S, and you don't have a job right now.....i would recommend saving up to pay for insurance and the car itself as well as any potential "incidents" that may arise in the next couple of years.

I don't know whether I should be amazed at your ability of affording an S at 17 or be shocked at your thought of still trying to mod your car after losing a job.

what.
the.
f.

s2000 talk recently has been ridiculous.

to answer OPs question:
Part out your car, including hard top, and sell anything not stock. then sell the S and buy a used civic or comparable econobox. drive this to the ground. keep all your extra money in the bank (or invested) for when you actually need it.

not like you'll actually listen to good advice... but hey. might as well put it out there.

Agreed with: thebig33tuna. But if you want to keep the car sell the top use the cash for payments until your on your feet again, AND then start modding again. Thats only after your sure your stable though. IM

Seriously, sell the hard top if you need to, but don't buy any other mods. Oh, and find a new job.

OK..this is just my .02. On one hand, u can sell the hardtop to make ur payments, and not spend the left over money until you have a stable job to afford such things. On the second hand..u don't sell the hardtop...u can't make the payments...so not only do u lose ur S, but if they happen to tow it without u around you lose not only the S but ur hardtop too.

I really wanna keep modding my car
Granted you're only 17 and still have a lot of life lessons ahead of you, but those are two sentences that should never find places next to each other. Get your finances straight first before you buy a nice car, let alone any mods. Scraping by just to afford a car is not only bad from a financial statement, but a poor decision overall. In your situation, I would have to agree and say either sell all of your aftermarket parts to save (invest it or at the very least use a high-yield savings account) or sell your car and get something practical, cheap, and reliable. There's a reason why the other 80% of the people (or 99% of 17 year olds) on the road that drive cars that don't cost as much as yours. Just be smart and plan for your future. If I could go back a year ago, I would still be driving my 2002 dinged up fading red sentra as I would have been able to purchase a condo or a business opportunity I have been planning for by now.

Go to college, get a job, then get your car. It will suck for you now, but in the end you will not be able to thank yourself enough.

Good luck to you. Dont waste your money. I know at 17 its really hard. As soon as I turned 18 I started traveling through the states. Once I drove to New York, I only stayed there like 6 hours then I visited some other states. And I only did that cause I had no school on a Friday so I left Friday and came back Sunday. Ask your parents for help? Your making payments on it so you mom or dad had to cosign. So I'm pretty sure they assumed the responsibility of taking up on the payments in case you wouldn't be able to. Now when you have little money left over and your buying an exhaust wouldn't make you look like a real responsible person in your parents eyes. They did you a favor, do them one back.
