Does using NEO MTF Void the Warranty?

How would anyone know or prove what lube is in your transmission? Looks like, tastes like, slipperly like Honda MTF, must be Honda MTF.

Do you worry about breaking traffic rules when no one sees you?

In 20 years of using NEO, I have never seen a failure due to lubrication, with NEO or with petroleum. But not using NEO could cause problems earlier. Read the specs. There is nothing else close.

No, Its just because I went to Honda to Replace my tranny fluid and I brought NEO MTF. After they put it in they told me that because this is not a MTF that Honda Recommends that if there was a problem that Honda will not Honor my Warranty.

Sorry to hijack the thread a little but .......................
Neo's been around for 20 years? Is this the same as the "NeoSynthetic" that's been the rave lately? Have they changed the formulation any? And is it full synthetic or a blend? Some guys have just started using and talking about this stuff like it is brand spanking new.

If the transmission failed due to a lubrication problem caused by the oil then they would not honor warranty the trans. If the problem with the trans was not oil related, you would have a warranty. If I were you, tell the dealer to take a hike and go to a different one. Any dealer that uses ?scare? tactics for any reason does not deserve your business.

I bring my own oil all the time for my car and they never say a word. Well, they did once. Since this is the only Honda that sues that weight oil, I saved them the trouble of having to get some.

Jason, before you rush out and try neo synthetic as I did, here are my thoughts. My transmission was notchy before, and is JUST as notchy now. No difference at all! Some people have had very good results with this. Mabey their transmissions were VERY NOTCHY.Mine still has the same "TICLUNK" as ever, not terrible but still present.
