Default Neuspeed exhaust installation question

Hi all,

I had my Neuspeed exhaust (version 3, I would assume, as I purchased it from Import Development in Dec.) installed about a month or so ago. The tips stick out from the bumper about 2-3 inches. I had Autothority in Fairfax, VA do the installation work, and I am sure they are more than up to the task of a simple exhaust installation. But...I saw a picture of Rick Stark's S with the Neuspeed exhaust, and his tips do not protrude nearly as far as mine do. So, I was wondering how far the Neuspeed tips normally protrude, if at all. I was also wondering if my problem is correctable if in fact they are poking out too far.

Thanks for the help.

Sorry, this does not really apply to your question.
AutoThority is the chip I have in my CRX-Si, great company!

Xviper,

Thanks for the pic. Yours look like Rick Stark's. Mine poke out quite a bit further. What version is yours? Maybe my tips are longer. I'll measure them tonight. I like the look of yours better. A little bit more subtle.

Ohhhhhhhh....maybe they made the tips bigger for version 3.0? I assume mine is the third because I just ordered it in Dec. from Mingster, and it was shipped straight from Neuspeed. I sent Mingster a PM to see if he had any thoughts, but I am betting that they changed the tips from the second to the third version.

I'm not positive as to what changes were made to V3. Ask rstark which version he has. Rich? I thought the main difference was in the way the tubing connections were clamped together. V1 had problems with the tips being too close to the black plastic piece on the bottom edge of the bumper cap so V2 altered the hangers to correct this. Maybe they altered the tip protusion as an extra precaution against melting. I've had no problems with this as you can see the tips hang down sufficiently to avoid the black plastic from getting too hot. Is there a possibility your installer didn't push all the piping together as far as they needed to go? (Like where the beginning of the "Y" pipe joins onto the cannister after the cat. ) This would cause the tips to protrude the same distance too far. You could cut a bit of this to bring them back in if you wanted to.
