Default New 4dr Civic Si vs S2000

What's been going through my mind lately is the fact that honda makes the 4dr Civic much stronger than the S2000 and yet the S2000 cost more not only that but the Civic from what i've been seeing is that it's been out doing the S2000 on the track as well. WhtDFxUp with that?

Someone please give me hope that some how the S2000 is better than the Civic Performance wise

I think the stronger 4dr civic you're talking about is the JDM Civic-R
Its not a SI, it is 100x better than USDM Civic SI.

And, S2K > Civic in performance, look, convertible, etc etc

As mentioned above, the Civic that you may have seen is the Mugen Civic RR, which was only released in Japan. I would imagine that the JDM Civic Type R can also give an S2000 / S2000 CR a run for its money at the track.

Not to mention the price tag on the CTR and mugen RR is quite a bit up there. I think the Mugen RR (converted to USD) is somewhere around $40k? correct me if I'm wrong but I do know that it would cost significantly more than an S2k or CR if it were to reach the states.

So if I was paying that much for a civic it damn well better kick some major ass on the track lol

a chevy cobalt ss makes more power than either two, but why doesn't it cost as much!? sorry, but numbers alone don't dictate price tag. fit, finish, build quality, driving experience, etc. all add to the price of a car.

the 2 civics that beat the s2000 were the mugen rr and civic type r. yeah in my mind i want to pick up a civic because of its potential, but think about how long the s2000 has been out and hasnt had any serious modifications other than a exterior change in 04 and introduced DBW in 06. within the time of how long the s2000 has been out, the civic has had 3 different chassis' for the civic si and just received a facelift for 09. if that much research and design was put into the s2000 im sure it would kill. and the main reason why those cars keep changing is because of sales. if s2000 sales were as great as civic sales, i believe the s2000 would have developed into a much greater competitor.
